All referrals need to include appropriate patient information including contact information and reason for referral.
All referrals need to have current imaging. This means an x-ray (attach the report) of the affected area within the last 6 months.
Our office will reply confirming that we have received the referral. There may be an accompanying letter with more detailed instructions from the surgeon if applicable.
Incomplete referrals will be returned with a request for additional information.
Once triaged, your patient will be placed on the appropriate waitlist and will be contacted directly with appointment details.
Any urgent referral needs to be discussed on the telephone. Sometimes you will be directed to the orthopedic surgeon on call at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
